Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership AI Learn and Lead
AI Learn & Lead has officially taken off and ETTAS e.V. is on board
This week, the Erasmus+ cooperation partnership AI Learn & Lead (AILL) officially launched in Reykjavík. Over the next three years, schools and education leaders from Iceland, Denmark, and Germany will collaborate to explore how artificial intelligence can enrich school development and educational leadership.
The kick-off meeting brought together 22 teachers, principals, and leaders. Over two intense days, participants connected the newly published AI Literacy Framework from the European Commission and OECD with the project’s ambitions, shared their school experiences and expectations, worked hands-on with design thinking methods, and even prototyped chatbots. Alongside these creative activities, the consortium also established its roadmap, roles, and responsibilities for the coming years.
For ETTAS e.V., this project represents a unique opportunity to bring together international expertise, research, and practice. ETTAS leads the development of the project’s central product, a modular and adaptable AI Guidebook for schools. The guide will provide practical pathways for integrating AI in teaching and school development while taking into account universal design for learning, makerspaces, language education, and inclusion. To ensure that the guide is not only visionary but also usable in everyday school life, the project will hold design thinking modules with schools, hybrid workshops and integrate continuous feedback from schools and municipalities.
In addition to this development work, ETTAS plays a key role in connecting the project with European education policies. Together with the City of Reykjavík, ETTAS is responsible for analyzing the current state of AI in education and reviewing relevant policy frameworks, always with an eye on aligning outcomes with teacher education standards. A strong emphasis is placed on quality assurance, ensuring that the results respond directly to the needs of teachers, principals, and schools.
The work will not remain theoretical. ETTAS supports the pilot phases in partner schools, helping to reflect on the experiences and providing methodological advice. This hands-on involvement ensures that the guidebook and integration framework are continuously refined. At the end of the project, ETTAS will host the final international dissemination event in Germany, bringing together educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to showcase the project’s results.
For ETTAS, AI Learn & Lead is about more than technology. It is about creating inclusive and future-oriented approaches that empower schools to navigate digital transformation with confidence and creativity. Throughout the project, ETTAS will also share insights and results continuously with its own network, ensuring that the knowledge generated benefits not only the project partners but also the wider educational community in Europe.
